A Shark has no Thorns
A Shark Has No Thorns, 1968, cotton fabric, cardboard, latex, and roofing tar, approximately 7 x 6 x 2 inches
This was done in response to Bruce Nauman's piece, "A Rose has No Teeth" which he gave us as a gift. His was designed to be nailed to a tree and allowed to grow into the bark. My piece was given to Bruce with instructions that he throw it off the Golden Gate Bridge. It was inflated which would allow it to float for an indefinite amount of time.
